Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is Event Weather a weather bureau?

No. Our analysis is predetermined and based on many years of collected scientific data and should never take the place of up to date forecasting. We recommend that leading up to your event, that you consult the seven day forecast which is provided by the Bureau of Meteorology.

  2. How accurate is the weather analysis report?

The report provides easily understood data and is accurate as climatic variability allows. Based on tests, Event Weather provides a probability scale depicting weather conditions for up to 12 months in advance. Since our records go back many years for each location, every effort has been made to make sure consistency of analysis occurs by day and by month.

Event Weather serves as a guide to assist in your decision making process in choosing what day to have your event or the climate conditions for your destination.

  4. How is the analysis determined?

The analysis is determined by our knowledge of meteorology and various proprietary mathematical algorithms. These algorithms take into consideration the standard climatic variables that are collected for a specific location over time and then applied to each day of the year for the chosen location.

    The standard climatic variables include:

    • Rainfall
    • Maximum Temperature (°C)
    • Minimum Temperature (°C)
    • Temperature (°C) 9am / 3pm
    • Wind Speed 9am / 3pm
    • Relative Humidity 9am / 3pm
  5. How often is the new data uploaded?

New data is processed and remodelled into our climatic algorithms on the summer and winter solstice where the sun reaches its northern and southern limits. This process consists of the previous six months data and ensures continuity of analysis to provide as accurate as possible weather estimates.

  6. What locations in Australia is currently made available?

Event Weather initially will have eight locations in Australia available for weather analysis up to 12 months in advance. Over time Event Weather will make available weather analysis reports for the 68 weather tracking locations in Australia. The current aim is to upload 10 additional locations every six months once processing is finalised.
